The Winter Crusade
Halflings tend to build their communities just at the edge of the wilderness. Many people are unsire if that is because halflings have an innate sense of adventure and love of exploration, or if they prefer to be away from civilization. In truth, they just prefer their isolation and the company of their own people. However, they enjoy the company of travelers and traders, whom they treat with respect.
Halfling settlements are well-defended, usually surrounded by a wall and earthen bulwark. Every member of the community s expected to fight in its defense. Scouts are constantly on patrol.
A halfling who leaves his community does so usually because their family has grown too large, or because of some calamity happening to their family. Once their world is changed, they find it difficult to reside back in their small village or town.
